11:14 am - Video tutorials are coming!

ozfuture

Hey all, I haven't given up on this yet, but the main problem in getting the tutorials done is the whole writing, taking snapshots of the screen  and then going back and redoing the steps to make sure its correct and not that confusing to follow. For something basic like the lighting tutoral it took 2 hours to get it right

Now with the advent of YouTube, and a few requests I've have had for various tips and tricks, I'm giving this a try
please let me know if you want more of these (and since its faster to do, it means there will be more and more of these coming along!)

If your into film (especially if you're starting out), a very good book to read is "What they don't teach you in film school" by Camille Landau and Tiare White. Even if you're not into film or dv, it's still a good book to read if you want tips on how to cope and mangage your life, or at the very least, how to get free food.

8:52 pm - Extraction Part 3 - By Our Powers Combined!!

ozfuture
Yes I know, bad pun, but it does serve a purpose. Up to know we have only used one tool at a time to do the job. That tool being the magic wand tool, the background eraser tool or the extract tool. Now on there own you can do a lot with them, but think how much more power you can harness if you use them all at the same time. Read more...Collapse )

4:46 pm - Extraction part 2 - The Extract Tool

ozfuture
Greetings and salutations to all. I hope your not to wiped-out from the long weekend!

The tool I showed you last post for image extraction is mainly for the situations where it’s a uniform colour all around the edges of the image. But as well all know, that’s a rare occurrence. Read more...Collapse )

8:39 pm - General Housekeeping And How To Use The Background Eraser

ozfuture
Hey all, another day, another technique for you all! Yes I know 2 in a month *shock horror* and pick up your chins off the floor please!

A bit of housekeeping though before I begin. To all the new people WELCOME! And to the old hands, welcome back. This community is not just for me to post hints and tips, everyone of you can and should post anything you want, if it’s a trick to take better still shots, or even how to tell Dreamweaver how to use a java script! Hell converting an jpg to a gif is good! No matter what you’re good or bad at some people may not know how to do it. So post Away!!!

Anyway I just came back from attending a 90 min talk about Photoshop CS. For those who don’t know Adobe run free Seminars every few months (well they do in Australia anyway) and you can pick up all sorts of tricks there. Sometimes its basic stuff, other times it can be how to use new the features properly. So today I’ll be passing on a few tips on how to Extract a person (dog, cat, object or mech) from a image.
